I’m excited to share my passion for this game with you. I teach my classes at my home (I do have pets), or you can contact me to discuss meeting privately at yours.

My Approach

I teach only according to actual National Mah Jongg League rules, rituals and proper etiquette, because it gives my students the strongest foundation to build from. With so many variations out there, I’ve chosen the one that is clear, structured, and widely played across the country. Once you learn this version, you’ll feel confident sitting down at almost any table—and ready to enjoy the game anywhere.

Private Lessons

Individual lessons in my home, or yours! You receive undivided attention for optimal learning. Beginner or intermediate players are welcome. 2 hour minimum.

$250 for 3.5 hrs (level 1)
$150 for 2 hrs (level 2)

Group Lessons

Group lessons can be up to 12 people (3 minimum). Bring your friends for your own private group, or join an existing class at my house, and meet new friends.

$150 per person (2-hour minimum)
*group lesson at your home will be approx. a 3-hour lesson.

FAQ

Mahjohng is confusing and I get a lot of questions. Visit my FAQ page for a full list of questions and answers or email me with additional ones. I’m always happy to answer your questions.

  • First things first, don't be nervous. Most of my clients have never played either. I will walk you through every step of this complicated game.

  • I provide drinks (waters, iced teas) and light snacks (classic Mahj nosh: bags of popcorn, licorice, chocolates, etc).  You and your friends are welcome to bring any additional drinks or snacks (tile-friendly - no sticky fingers!) you wish, but it is not necessary.

  • Timelines depend on the session, but I generally dedicate 2 hours to each lesson but exact times are listed on the Classes Page.
