  • Getting started is simple. Either register for a class under “Classes”, or reach out through the contact form with any questions you may have.

  • I teach with passion, patience and, hopefully some laughs along the way! I teach only actual NMJL rules, rituals and proper etiquette.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

  • As I provide everything needed for you to learn (including drinks and light snacks), there is no need for you to purchase, or do, anything ahead of your lesson!

  • My minimum is 3 students, max 16, so that I can give as much attention as needed to everyone.

  • Most people come solo to my regular Intro to Mahj sessions.  This is a great way to make new friends and meet students at the same level.  We’re all beginners to start!

  • Once you become part of the World of Marvelous Mrs Mahj, I have a roster of students where you can register yourself, and look for other players in your area.  I also host events, which is another great way to meet other players.  

  • The choices available for tiles can be overwhelming.  I’m more than happy to help guide you to the perfect set, at a price point that you’re comfortable with.  I want you to love your tiles and play with them!!

  • A nice glass of wine is always a good idea at the Mahj table!

  • Among the over 40 recognized versions of Mahjong played around the world, American Mahjong is unique in that it is the only version played with 152 tiles, including 8 Flowers and 8 Jokers. It is also the only version that plays with a card that changes the winning hands year-to-year.  This keeps the game fresh and exciting, and what makes it beneficial for our brains!
